Board Announcement of New Mother Lode Fair Manager

PUBLIC RELEASE

The 29th District Agriculture Association/ Mother Lode Fair Board Directors voted at the
October 25, 2022 Board of Directors meeting to name Kim Helmbold of Jamestown as the new
Fair Manager.

A lifelong resident of Tuolumne County, Helmbold grew up attending and participating in events
at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds with her family and friends and has spent the last 24 years
working for the fair.

Helmbold started as a temporary employee working in the Administration Office in the months
leading up to the fair, taking and processing entry forms, and later moved to Livestock where she
worked as a livestock clerk. Since 2017, Helmbold has held the position of Livestock
Superintendent.

Helmbold is a fifth generation native, descended from Tuolumne County ranching and mining
pioneers John and Leanna Donner App and Frederick and Louisa Klein. Helmbold and her
husband Stuart live in Jamestown, as do their children Cody, Abby and Kaela.

Helmbold states “I’m very excited to be a part of the future of the Fairgrounds.”
