The Mother Lode Fairgrounds is currently working with our upcoming events and promoters. We are currently recommending limits on size of groups as indicated by the Governor’s Executive Order issued this afternoon. Some events have decided to continue but at a smaller scale, while others have postponed or moved their event to a later date in the year.
We feel confident we can accommodate the events throughout the year but will also follow the State’s Executive Orders and guidelines. If you have any questions, please forward to email@example.com

Due to the continued outbreak of virulent Newcastle Disease in California and at the recommendation of the State Veterinarian, the Mother Lode Fair Board of Directors has voted to carry-over the cancellation of the Mother Lode Fair Poultry Show into 2020. The Mother Lode Fair continues to remain focused on public safety as well as the health of our local poultry flocks.
The Livestock Department will continue to offer alternative programs for our exhibitors who are members of poultry projects. Exhibitors who may be interested in changing projects to another species are encouraged to reach out to their 4-H Leaders, FFA Advisors, or Mother Lode Fair Livestock Superintendent.
Each year the Mother Lode Fair chooses five (5) organizations through its Outreach Program to hold events at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds for free or for a reduced rate. It does not include your supplies, propane, or use of the fairgrounds staff for labor.
Criteria to be considered for the program are:
- Non-profit status
- Funds will not be generated by the activity
- The request must be made in writing each year
In 2020, your organization can apply to be part of the Mother Lode Fair’s Outreach Program.
If you are interested in being considered, please download and fill out the application form and return by February 15, 2020 to the Fair Office:
220 Southgate Drive
Sonora, California 95370
Late applications will not be accepted. Your application will be considered at the January meeting on February 26, 2020.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the fairgrounds office at 209-532-7428.
